Who are we and what do we do?
Greg and Cara Samways, and Peter and Christine Tipton (Cara's mum and Dad), have been classic car enthusiasts for years. The Tipton family have had a succession of MGs, including MGB Roadsters, MGB GTs, MGAs and MGCs, and TVRs. As a consequence, Peter has spent many an hour restoring and maintaining the cars over the years, including a spell racing TVRs, and rebuilding Austin Healeys and MGBs. The rest of us have had the pleasure of driving them! We are continuing to drive them, but now we are also offering them to you!

Peter is head of car maintenance and is seen here doing a quick service to one of the Roadsters before we set off on our annual Le Mans trip. Peter has spent many years working with MGs and used to race TVRs in the dim and distant past as well!
We won 2nd Prize in the classic category during our annual trip to the Le Mans 24 Hours in 2004! OK, the campsite at
As well as the cars, and the deer, wild boar and buzzards, we share our French home with two tabby cats (Bill and Ben), who are now in their 16th year, and our latest addition, "Potts" the dog. He's apparently a red setter / labrador cross, so does that make him a "Setterdor" or something trendy like that?
Cara and Greg have been attending French traditional music and dance festivals in Central France for more than 10 years. Our favourite is St. Chartier. Our love of French traditional music and dance is part of the reason for moving here. Greg plays the Vielle a Roue (Hurdy-Gurdy) and the Cornemuse (French bagpipes). Our hurdy-gurdy is a Jenzat-style lute-back made by Bernard Kerboeuf, from La Chatre. Cara also plays the gurdy and we both enjoy the traditional dances from central France, such as the Valse, Scottische, Mazurka, and Bourrees.
When not in France we might be found on the south coast of Spain, staying at Peter and Christine's holiday apartment. We have many friends there, including a couple who occasionally take us out on their Warrior 40 yacht. Cara is at the wheel in this shot (as usual), with Greg, Christine and Peter giving advice (again, as usual!). We used to have a Dufour 2800, but we sold it to buy cars! But we are currently looking at getting a dingy to sail on Lac de Vassiviere.
